چکیده

Abstract Objectives We compared the clinicopathologic features, clinical management, and outcomes of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)–expressing nonexpressing microinvasive breast carcinomas (MiBC) to explore significance HER2 in MiBC. Methods Clinicopathologic follow-up information cases with final diagnosis MiBC known status between 2007 2019 were analyzed. Results Nineteen (41.3%) HER2-positive (HER2+) 27 (58.7%) HER2-negative (HER2?) MiBCs identified. positivity was likely be associated high nuclear grade, presence tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes, hormonal negativity, increased Ki-67 both situ carcinomas. Nodal metastases found ER+/HER2? (5.3%). One HER2+ case have isolated tumor cells axillary node. The majority patients (76.5%) did not receive HER2-targeted therapy. All available alive without recurrence or distant metastasis, a median 38 months. Conclusions Similar larger size invasive carcinomas, is high-grade morphologic features MiBCs. However, overexpression does appear nodal metastasis worse outcome our study cohort. role therapy this setting merits additional study.

Expression and role of fibroblast activation protein-alpha in microinvasive breast carcinoma

BACKGROUND Diagnosis of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) in breast cancer cases is challenging for pathologist due to a variety of in situ patterns and artefacts, which could be misinterpreted as stromal invasion. Microinvasion is detected by the presence of cytologically malignant cells outside the confines of the basement membrane and myoepithelium. When malignant cells invade the stroma, ther...

Duration of anti-HER2 blockage therapy may improve survival in HER2 positive metastatic breast carcinoma patients.

PURPOSE The duration of anti-HER2 blockage therapy in metastatic breast cancer patients is still unclear. We aimed to evaluate the effect of the anti-HER2 blockage therapy duration and other factors on survival in HER2 positive metastatic breast carcinoma (MBC) patients. METHODS The medical records of 193 HER2 positive MBC patients, who did not have the opportunity to receive adjuvant trastuz...

[Molecular protocol for HER2/neu analysis in breast carcinoma].

BACKGROUND The HER2/neu proto-oncogene is frequently over-expressed in breast cancer and serves as a biological target for trastuzumab therapy. However, there is no consensus regarding the technical aspects to be used to define HER2/neu status in clinical practice. METHODS The present study was conducted to address this critical issue by prospectively analysing a large cohort of breast cancer...
